DesignCat MCP

Let an authenticated agent discover models, manage saved account media and run deliberate generations through DesignCat.

Connect your account

Use the remote Streamable HTTP MCP endpoint:

In a client with remote MCP and OAuth support, add that endpoint and complete the DesignCat account consent flow. A personal account key is another option for clients that support bearer credentials; create and revoke keys in My Profile and keep the key in your client’s private credential configuration.

The endpoint requires authentication. Public documentation does not grant access to account projects, private files or credit spending.

Discover before creating

Read get_agent_workflows, call list_agent_models, and inspect get_agent_model_schema for the intended model/capability pair. Use that schema’s exact parameters. A model name alone is not enough to infer inputs, references, duration or output format.

The account tools cover projects, content, kits, uploads, generation requests, voices and media inspection. Browser account security and billing management are excluded from agent credentials.

A complete generation sequence

  1. Identify the task and intended project or account-library placement.
  2. Discover the supported model and exact operation schema.
  3. Inspect pricing and agree the intended generation. Generation spends your credits.
  4. Call generate with an explicit idempotency_key and valid parameters.
  5. Poll get_generation_request using the returned request ID.
  6. Retrieve every output and inspect it. Do not treat a pending preview as a missing original.
  7. Open Studio history or the intended Motion project to continue using the saved result.

A technical retry reuses the same key and identical body. A deliberate new sample uses a new key. Polling does not require resubmitting a generation.

Uploads and inspection

A local filename does not transfer file bytes. Prepare an upload, transfer the bytes using the returned upload mechanism, complete it, and check storage status. Use owned file IDs for downstream operations.

get_media_image retrieves image pixels. get_video_frames returns selected timestamped frames; those samples do not establish the quality of the entire video or its audio. Original download links can expire and should be renewed.

Client availability

Remote connection support and setup vary by client. The source plugin provides Codex and Claude Code manifests. A hosted ChatGPT or Claude connection requires a reachable endpoint and a compatible account/client flow; a plugin archive does not publish an app to either marketplace.
